Through the Summer of 2013 Rotary Global funded a Five Gallon Bucket Generator set up into the Andean highlands of Peru. The task was a collaboration between Cusco-Peru based Asociación Ecosistemas Andinos (ECOAN) and Syracuse-New York established manufacturing students from SUNY-ESF. The project, conceived by Brian Hettler associated with the Amazon Conservation Team (ACT), had been in works well with over a-year. Thomas Decker led the pupil team from Syracuse with Sam Redfield, designer for the generator. With longstanding connections to neighborhood communities, ECOAN coordinated the work in Abra Malagá Thastayoc, your website of this set up. The generators is going to be part of a community-run system for charging Light-emitting Diode headlamps, radios and mobile phones.
